Welcome to The Lobby! Heald Green’s community funded games room! This room has been made possible due to the generous contributions from our local community including Howden’s Wythenshawe, Arnold Clark Community Fund, Forever Manchester Fund and Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust.

The Lobby is a charitable cause – Set up to support Cafe Unity 2014, a registered charity in Heald Green village. Charity number 1161239.

Before we let you upstairs there are a few legal things we need to cover:

Each child will be required to provide a signed consent form provided to you after booking. This is to confirm the children's parents understand who is responsible for the supervision of the party and their consent to confirm they understand the potential implications of age restricted games (see below).

FOOD & DRINK

Please do not bring any food or drinks upstairs to the games room – You will be able to have food & drinks downstairs where you have access to the cafe privately for the duration of the party. This is because we know accidents happen and it is unfortunately the only way we can protect the equipment. This may be a strict rule, but looking after the equipment helps us keep the costs low!

You do get the cafe downstairs for you to set up your food and drinks! Bring anything you like, we will set up a long table for the kids and have plastic plates and cups available for you to use.

SUPERVISION

All children who visit The Lobby must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Under no circumstances should a child be left unsupervised. Cafe Unity 2014 does not take any responsibility for the supervision of the party or guests - Staff working in the cafe are there to supervise the premises and serve drinks only.

We understand that not all parents will stay for the duration of the party. It is the responsibility of the booking adult to ensure that children participating in the party are supervised at all times in the games room upstairs and whilst using the ground floor Cafe facilities.

It is required that there is at least 1 adult supervising per 10 children attending - This means a party of 15 must be supervised upstairs in the games room by at least 2 adults at all times.

AGE RESTRICTED CONTENT

As this room is used by all ages, some games and music installed on our devices may have age restricted content (for example Grand Theft Auto 5 being 18+). As parents will be supervising their own children during their time at The Lobby it will be the responsibility of the parent to ensure that they are satisfied that the game/music are suitable.

We are able to set some age restrictions on the consoles, if you require this please select below, or contact us leading up to your party and I’m sure we will be able to help! We are unable to block games individually, but we can block out certain age ranges such as 12+, 16+, 18+.

We have various games available - It is best if you look at our "Games" page for more information on which games we have on our consoles, and what their age rating is. As a guide, some of the more popular games:

Roblox is rated for ages 7+

Minecraft is rated for ages 7+

Rocket League is rated for ages 3+

Fortnight is rated for ages 12+

Grand Theft Auto is rated for ages 18+

Call of Duty is rated for ages 18+

The age ratings are defined by PEGI - It is only guidance, however as a venue hosting access to games & content we need to, as a potential safeguarding issue make you aware that it could potentially breach children safety laws to allow a minor to be subject to inappropriate content (violence, sex, bad language etc). - So you as the responsible booking adult need to ensure that the games content you make available during the party is appropriate for the audience. Please choose below what restrictions you would like in place.

Cafe Unity 2014 only acts as the venue/facilities provider and accepts no responsibility for children being subjected to access to age restricted games/content - The liability falls with the booking and supervising adults.

DATA PROTECTION

As part of our marketing on social media we would like to post pictures taken during gaming sessions – You can opt out from this and we will blur any faces. Please tick the box below if you would like to opt out.

PARKING

There is a large car park to the rear of Cafe Unity - It is free to use for 2 hours, with no return within 2 hours. We have been given a tablet located at the counter for our customers to enter their registration number. Once you enter your registration this will extend the time allowed to stay to3 hours, with no return within 2 hours.

Unfortunately we have no control over this system or any sway with the company with the fines issued so it is in your best interest to make sure everybody who attends enters their registration. The system is controlled by ANPR cameras at all entrance/exit points.

The spaces to the front of the shops fall under different rules, as this is council controlled and isn't monitored by ANPR cameras like the rear. We usually recommend parents to try and use the front spaces if dropping off/picking up.
